This series was inspired by an assignment for Creative Loafing. While shooting a Monday night poetry slam at the Apache Cafe in downtown Atlanta for short event preview, I was struck by the style, attitude and energy that the artists brought to the stage. Their performances were insightful and relevant, and heavily infused with sex. I returned the following week to photograph these portraits.
